I’m not going to lie. 2015 has been rough and I cannot wait to leave it in the past. I still need to work on accepting it, but I will get there with time.
So this year as Thanksgiving draws near, I’ve been finding it hard to feel thankful and get in the holiday spirit. That is why it is extra important for me to write this post. Hard as it may be, when we’re down, we still need to take the time to appreciate life and find the things we are grateful for. They are always around us. Sometimes it just takes a little digging to uncover them! I know I am definitely thankful for my friends and family and the various communities that have unfolded around me this year (Oiselle, Yoga Tropics, & The Movement Lab to name a few.)
I’m writing this post a couple of days early since I will be headed to Nicaragua on Thanksgiving day. (Yes, I am very thankful for that. I can’t wait to get off the grid and explore!)
Here is my list of a few things that have brought me happiness this year, and for that I am thankful.
- Travel
- Sunrise runs
- Old friends
- New friends
- Solitude
- Freedom
- Family
- The perfect song
- Yoga
- New resources
- Vegan takeout
- Coffee
- Community
- Dance
- Infinite possibilities
“What a wonderful thought it is that some of the best days of our lives haven’t happened yet.”
What are you thankful for? Any trips planned for Thanksgiving?!
Happy (early) Thanksgiving, friends. xx

I love this. Your tenacity, your persistence to persevere in spite of this year’s myriad of Everests to climb has been inspiring for me. Enjoy the gridless life and know that you’re loved deeply back home.
