Who is Wandering Dawn?
When I was 11 years old, I had already lived in 11 different houses. By the time I was in high school, I could call 7 different states my home. Now 33, I’ve been to over 40 countries across 6 continents (and counting)! Change and being on the move are ingrained in my DNA, and travel has become one of my greatest passions. Fitness and getting outdoors also make me feel alive. There is so much to see and do, I rarely want to stay still (or stay in one place).
This blog was formerly published under San Diego Fitness Diva where I shared my fitness endeavors, from training for my first marathon to completing an Ironman triathlon and running Boston. These posts can still be found here, and I will continue to share my running and yoga journeys. I will also focus on writing about world travels, learning about other cultures, and feeding my wanderlust.
After an unexpected event in my life, I started to look at things differently. I quit my job. I started to travel on my own for the first time ever. I resolve to live in the present moment and not apologize for any path I may choose to take (or not). I want to see the sun rise and chase dawn in as many countries as possible. I want to be fearless and experience what brings me pure joy. I’m ready to focus less on planning what life is “supposed” to look like and spend more time just living it.
I hope this blog can serve as inspiration for your next vacation destination or gap year, or as motivation to sign up for your next race. Maybe it will even get you thinking about what brings YOU joy in life! One thing is for sure. There will be some major wandering along the way.
Wander with me!
